kinit:opening console: Read-only file system

Running Hook [keymap]
Loading keymap...cannot open file ru-mob
done.
Running Hook [filesystems] :: Loading root filesystem module.. .ext3 Waiting for devices to settle...done.

1 Break requested, type "exit" to resume operation

NОТЕ: klibc contains no 'ls' binary, use 'echo instead
:: Initramfs Completed - control passing to kinit
IP-Config: no devices to configure
Waiting 0 s before mounting root device...
кjournald starting.   Commit interval 5 seconds
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
kinit: Mounted root ext3 filesystem) readonly.
kinit: opening console: Read-only file system
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

So, I've moved all files and folders to another partition, format first one and after that I moved all files back. Now I cannot boot. I tried to recreate initramfs image in live cd, and put break=y in menu.lst, but I really don't have any clue why is it... can it be file permissions/ownership problem? And also it seems that initramfs works normally but not kinit... where I can read about arch boot process in detail?

Re: kinit:opening console: Read-only file system

Could very well be permissions...

How did you move all files back and forth (what commands)?

Re: kinit:opening console: Read-only file system

Is the partition listed to be mounted in /etc/fstab ?
That happened the 1st time I installed Arch and forgot to
change the fstab entries and was without / big_smile
