Problems with USB soundcard

Hi,

I have a USB soundcard based on the PCM2704 TI chip. It is working in Arch with both ALSA and OSS (after a workaround found here: http://www.4front-tech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2998 ), but the problem is that there are short glitches in the sound about every 20th second. I have tried ajusting buffer sizes and period times both in OSS and ALSA, and I have also tried running JACK on OSS, but everytime I play sound, I can hear the glitches. I have also tried recompiling the kernel with the flag CONFIG_USB_DYNAMIC_MINORS disabled.

I also tried running the kernel26rt, and I think that the glitches might have disappeared, but I'm not completely sure, since that kernel kept crashing all the time on my computer. I managed to play sound once and don't think I heard any glitches.

The soundcard works fine in Windows XP, with no glitches during playback.

Is there anyone that could maybe come up with some new ideas on how to resolve this problem?

  Regards,
