Gnome-Do Issues

So, ever since the upgrade to Gnome 2.24 I've been having a problem with Gnome-Do. It's "Files and Folders" plugin no longer seems to work. I can't open any directories from Gnome-Do. Also, only the home directory is actually list. I can't even see any others. Is anyone else experiencing this, and/or does anyone have a fix? It's really rather bothersome.

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

Yes, my fix is restarting Gnome-Do.

Shutdown doesn't work any longer for me also. hmm

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

Same; I can't shutdown or restart, but I can suspend and hibernate. And restarting Gnome-do doesn't fix anything sad. I also can't seem to fine a useful forum/bug tracker for Gnome-Do. Everything on the site just seems to link to an Ubuntu wiki page :-/.

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

Did you try to run Gnome-Do via command line? It gives useful debugging output. For example, shutdown doesn't work for me because apparently that plugin is looking for gnome-sharp version 2.22 (solution: a plugin upgrade should fix that, I guess).

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

Gnome-do wouldn't shutdown for me either, but I tried it today and it does work now. I'm using the testing repository, maybe an update snuck in somehow?

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

It seems that Do.File won't load because it is for 2.20, as well as the disk mounter, gnome terminal, or pidgin buddies (though the last might be becuase of something else. Methinks Gnome-Do has some updating to do...

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

For now a potential fix could be recompiling it. I have recompiled it several times after the latest GNOME updates, and eventually I got some features back.

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

I'll try that and get back to you. *mucks about with yaourt*

Peter

EDIT: Hooray! It works again. I never thought about trying that, but thanks for the tip! Now I can move on with my life happily knowing Gnome-do works again. :-D

EDIT2: I just checked and it looks like I can even restart and shutdown now!

Re: Gnome-Do Issues

Can someone file a bug report to remind me to recompile the repo package.  Thanks.
