valgrind requires glibc < 2.9 problem

Yesterday during the usual

pacman -Syu

i got this:

:: Sincronizzazione dei database in corso...
 core è aggiornato
 extra è aggiornato
 community è aggiornato
:: Aggiornamento del sistema in corso...
risoluzione delle dipendenze in corso...
ricerca dei conflitti incrociati in corso...
errore: impossibile inizializzare l'operazione richiesta (impossibile soddisfare le dipendenze)
:: valgrind: richiede glibc<2.9

It's in italian if you wonder and the last line simply says that valgrind requires glibc < 2.9.
Is it possible to use valgrind with the latest version of glibc or I must necessary wait for a new valgrind release?

It's already been reported and accepted to work on. Hopefully it will be fixed shortly.
