xorg-server 1.5.3-4 performance problem

Hi All,

I've just upgraded Arch on my laptop and desktop.

Adapter on desktop
VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. K8M800/K8N800/K8N800A [S3 UniChrome Pro]

Adapter on laptop
GA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960

Since the upgrade, the frame rate on both machines have dropped drastically. (glxgears show 30-60 fps)
Armagetron runs at 10 fps

These are the same xorg.conf files I used with the old version, and the performance on the Intel and S3 were great.

Is there something I can do to get the performance back up?

Many thanks.

with intel cards: downgrade and wait for the .28 kernel when GEM is integrated. The intel driver has dropped TTM in favour of GEM but that hasn't been implemented in the kernel yet, so intel has to fall back on classic mode which is rather slow in comparison.
