~/.mplayer/config vo=gl2

For some reason I had to add the above line or I get

"X11 BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)" when I try and play any video files.

I was also able to play files using vo=X11
Is this a bug, is there something I should add/remove?

Current setup: Up-todate Archlinux, xfce4
Video card: ATI Radeon X2300 (open source drivers)

Re: ~/.mplayer/config vo=gl2

You can try adding

Option "VideoRam" "65536"

to your xorg.conf.

man xorg.conf wrote:

VideoRam  mem
This  optional  entry  specifies the amount of video ram that is
installed on the graphics board.  This is  measured  in  kBytes.
In  most  cases  this  is  not  required because the Xorg server
probes the graphics  board  to  determine  this  quantity.   The
driver-specific  documentation  should indicate when it might be
              needed.

Oh but I thought with HAL I don't have to use an xorg.conf file?
Guess I have to do some reading to find out.
Thanks anyway Allan smile

Re: ~/.mplayer/config vo=gl2

Well, technically you don't.  But if everything is not auto-detected properly, then you can force things with your xorg.conf.
