Proprietary Nvidia driver bug (?)

In this period I'm researching a bit more of eyecandy using transparency effects.
Both xfce4 and Kde4 built-in compositors denotes a buggy behaviour when opening *every* kde3 application or particular gtk ones like hydrogen...

In those programs text in labels and menus is invisible, making the application poorly usable.
It happens only when using the nvidia proprietary driver, both nv and vesa work, but needing openGL I would like to keep using closed drivers.

So I was wondering if there were some newer drivers I could install (video card is Nvidia GeForce 440MX) than the ones present in pacman repos. Are there any?

Thanks!

Re: Proprietary Nvidia driver bug (?)

What driver specifically are you using? You need nvidia-96xx, if you are using different ones?

Re: Proprietary Nvidia driver bug (?)

[marco@arch ~]$ pacman -Qs Nvidia
local/nvidia-96xx 96.43.09-1
NVIDIA legacy drivers for kernel26, 96xx branch

It should be the one present in extra... In the meanwhile I tryed a debian-based environment on the same machine, the proprietary driver behaves exactly in the same way, "nv" still works perfectly but lacks of opengl support sad

Is there any beta driver to try out?

Thank you for help!
