help with a firefox problem?

I know this is going to land me the no0b of the year award but ill go ahead and say it.

When i type in pacman -S firefox it installs but it grand paridiso ( not sure how to spell it) how do I get firefox.


I'm just lost n00b!

Grand Paradiso and Firefox are the same thing. If you want Firefox with the official branding, you will have to recompile it yourself from the AUR. There's a firefox-branded package floating somewhere in there if I recall.

I used to want branded Firefox, but lately have actually started preferring Gran Paradiso.

Note that there's is also a branding script posted here in the forums that can easily brand GP for you.

would you happen to know how i do this i downloaded the tar.gz i did a goolge and fourm search and nothing clear, sooooooo...... how do i compile firefox, o and the readme gives me a link to where i downloaded firefox.

well i just pacmaned firefox chmoded the script ran it and nothing has changed did I miss something?

If the file is named firebrand:

chmod u+x firebrand

...then run with root permissions, from the console:

sh firebrand

...or you can install the branded version of FF from AUR.
