I have the same sound card and the same modules loaded except for snd_pcsp, which isn't loaded here. I don't know if that can be the issue. Also, check your sound levels on alsamixer.

I set max levels on alsamixer but sound is weak.

Did you try to unload snd_pcsp? I don't know if it will help, but it's worth to try imo.

Try OSS4, it works better for my nvidia chip.

I was trying unload snd_pcsp but it doesn't help.
I install pulseaudio but sound still is too quiet with max. volume :?
I boot ubuntu 8.04 (pulseaudio) and soundcard was playing perfect...
What can I do?

edit /etc/modprobe.d/options (if it is not present, create it), and add
options snd-hda-intel model=autoreboot, if it doesn't help, replace auto with one of the modes described here
http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Document … on.txt#834
until you find the best option for you

ok, I upgrade alsa-driver to 1.0.18a and my /etc/modprobe.conf
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel index=0 model=3stack-digNow sound is louder. I don't know it is the best solution maybe others options are better but who knows ![]()
thanks for help!
