[SOLVED] unning Program icons gone though processes running

UPDATE: all I had to do was add a notification icon using 'add to panel' on the top gnome bar.
I looked at all the options earlier though the notification Icon I'd guess wasn't it. It was!
So now, when I close Skype and it's still running ...they icon appears up top right.

Hi all.
I've looked around and thought about this.

[PROBLEM: running programs do NOT show in gnome top right Window Selector or anywhere]

I use gnome and do my logins from command line

About 2 days of updates ago the ability to 'close minimize' Skype (for example - so that it doesn't show on the bottom bar though is still running) and then go back to the top right of my gnome desktop and bring it back is gone.

Sorry for the poor explanation. All I know is that skype IS running though I can't get it to come forward on the desktop at all. I found this out when trying to start the program and was told there's already an instance running.

This one's pretty dumb....sorry!

yep, that happens to me a fair bit too!

or, I'll post a question, then figure it out minutes later!
