Problem with reaching ttys when x started

Hello!

Let me first start with that I'm quite new to the whole *nix "scene".
But this is my problem. I recently did a -Syu and had some minor issues to deal with. The problem that remain is that once I've started X (I'm runnin openbox as wm) I can't press ctrl+alt+f1-f6 to reach an tty. Also I can't when in X stop it by pressing ctrl+alt+backspace. If I do this my screen goes black and there's no other way to revive the computer but to turn it off and on again. The same thing happens when I from the openbox menu choose to exit X.

Any ideas? Any files you need me to post?

what was updated? Was it xorg? Is your keyboard layout set correctly? ie do the keys work properly?

Re: Problem with reaching ttys when x started

xorg was updated and the keyboard layout should be correct. Since when I'm in X and press for example ctrl+alt+f2 the screen goes black. But if i press ctrl+alt+f7 or altgr+f7 it returns to the desktop.

Although just pressing F1-F12 in a terminal returns "~"
