Re: bad graphics in LXDE [SOLVED]

If you mean that your GTK2 apps look bad, it's because they're using the default theme. You can try by installing gtk2-themes-collection and some sort of GTK2 switcher like gtk2_prefs.

We don't have much information here to help you. Does everything look bad? If so, post your video card information, as well as your xorg.conf file.

Re: bad graphics in LXDE [SOLVED]

Are you using an nvidia card perchance? If so, try forcing the DPI to be 120 x 120. I found that the graphics were much better @ that setting than the standard 96 dpi, especially text. Here is the relevant part of my xorg.conf:

 93 Section "Monitor"
 94 Identifier "Monitor0"
 95 VendorName "Unknown"
 96 ModelName "DELL 1702FP"
 97 HorizSync 30.0 - 80.0
 98 VertRefresh 56.0 - 76.0
 99 EndSection
100
101 Section "Device"
102 Identifier "Device0"
103 Driver "nvidia"
104 VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
105 BoardName "GeForce 7800 GTX"
106 Option "UseEdidDpi" "False"
107 Option "DPI" "120 x 120"
108 BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
109 EndSection
110
111 Section "Screen"
112 Identifier "Screen0"
113 Device "Device0"
114 Monitor "Monitor0"
115 DefaultDepth 24
116 Option "TwinView" "0"
117 Option "metamodes" "1280x1024_75 +0+0; nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
118 SubSection "Display"
119 Depth 24
120 EndSubSection
121 EndSection

Ignore the line numbers.

Re: bad graphics in LXDE [SOLVED]

Download "scrot", it's very simple to use... Just run "scrot" from the command line and upload the image somewhere.

Re: bad graphics in LXDE [SOLVED]

What do you mean by bad graphics exactly? You have to give more information. What is your computer? What driver are you using: xf86-video-intel?

Sorry, but I'm always surprised to see postings like this from people and they expect help!

It is so ugly..

Re: bad graphics in LXDE [SOLVED]

Is it your resolution that is off? Can you post a copy of /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

Is this only in LXDE?

Re: bad graphics in LXDE [SOLVED]

You need to set your GTK theme.  I think that is what you mean by ugly.  Install some themes (to start off, do pacman -S gtk2-themes-collection) and then run lxappearance to set a new theme.
