Archlinux + udev + XOrg 1.5 = Godsend live USB || live CD

Wow. I have finally seen the power of udev autodection and X Input
Hotplugging.

I have been booting my xorg.conf-less USB hard disk
on various PCs with various graphic cards such as Intel, Nvidia , SIS
without the need to do any configuration.

And since i install all the wireless modules and firmware etc ipw2*,iwl*,rt*
on my USB hard disk which has been my Arch testing hard disk
has become a live USB!!

Gone are the days of modprobing modules and reconfiguring X.

For those who are complaining about the new XOrg update, you should
try deleting xorg.conf and see its power.:D

And for PCs which don't support booting from USB hard disk, larch comes
to the rescue. With larch, I can have similar setup to my USB hard disk. eg:
avast antivirus, opera, kdemod, krusader, akregator.
This is so great unlike some distro which can only create a livecd from the current
bootup root partition.
Just fyi, I don't feel comfortable surfing the net on a Windows PC. I will normally
insert a linux liveCD on such PCs.

I am so glad that I found Archlinux. It is the right distro for me.
I just feel at home.
It has just been almost 4 months on Archlinux but I have learn so much things about linux.

I would like to thanks the reviews of Archlinux for providing an insight and
PClinuxOS. Yes PClinuxOS, for not upgrading their packages if not i wll be stuck
in a user-friendly distro.  I don't need a user-friendly distro now.
I just need a distro that I can have control with.

Sorry for the rant on the last 2 paragraph but I can't stop praising Archlinux
with its dedicated developers and TUs. big_smile
