X hangs, related to evdev?

Hi after installing X it freezes, I can no longer press keys or move my mouse
I have installed the xf86-input-evdev driver and disabled input hotplugging (Option "AutoAddDevices" "False"). But that doesn't help me. Still the same freeze.

Noticed on the wiki one could configure hal to use the kbd/mouse drivers.

How do I do that? help me out!

Re: X hangs, related to evdev?

If I want evdev to work, I have to set my keyboard driver to "evdev" and have AutoAddDevices as "true" (the default).
If I want the good old kbd, I have to set my keyboard driver to "kbd" and have AutoAddDevices as "false".
I'm using kbd right now, don't want to mess with HAL.
Sorry if this is already obvious.
