Hello all,
I wonder if there is an easier way than Ctrl+A, Esc then pgup/pgdn to scroll within a screen tab...
I'd like to bind a hotkey like meta+pgup / meta+pgdn to scroll !
Does somebody know how to do this ?
PS: by the way the name "screen" makes it very difficult to find relevant topics in google or the forum... ![]()

I'm by no means an expert on screen and I'm sure someone else on this forum could easily solve your problem, but here are a few tips in the meantime:
If the Ctrl+A part bothers you, you can set it to something else by specifying an escape command in your ~/.screenrc file. I have it set to the "`" (grave accent aka backtick) key:
escape ``When it comes to scrolling in screen, I personally find it easiest to use the copy/scrollback mode. Plus you can use it to copy and paste. Use Ctrl+A [ to enter it, then you can use vi-like movement keys to move around and copy text.
Finally, I know what you mean about searching google for "screen". I've found it helpful to search for "screenrc", as this will give you pages relating to customizing screen in your ~/.screenrc file.
