Sound & Video apps crash

All apps from Applications->Sound & Video including Banshee, Movie Player (Totem), Audio CD Extractor crash with the following error (I should preface that this is the ppc port):

$ totem
(totem:4815): GStreamer-WARNING **: Failed to load plugin '/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstofa.so': libofa.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Error re-scanning registry , child terminated by signal
Run 'totem --help' to see a full list of available command line options.

However, running:
$ locate libgstofa.so
/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstofa.so

So, I don't understand what the problem is. Any ideas?

Thanks,
/Bob

Re: Sound & Video apps crash

kris ~ $ p -Ss libofa
extra/libofa 0.9.3-1 [installed]
     Open Fingerprint Architecture

maybe?

another thing is i odn't know how well the ppc port is supported..

Re: Sound & Video apps crash

Ok, I installed libofa, but I still get the second error:

[bob@arch-iBook ~]$ totem
Error re-scanning registry , child terminated by signal
Run 'totem --help' to see a full list of available command line options.

Sorry, I'm still clueless.

Thanks,
/Bob

Re: Sound & Video apps crash

Seems this is a known bug in 'liboil':

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … +bug/72814

and there's a patch for the liboil package:

http://webcvs.freedesktop.org/liboil/li … 89&r2=1.90

Any idea how I could implement this patch or let the ppc developers know so they could patch the liboil package and get this fixed.
