I recently installed Arch 64bit to dual boot with Vista. Everything is working great, except my boot time is not nearly what it should be going of my previous experience with Arch. In past installs Arch would boot and gdm would be up all in about 20 seconds or so. On this install it takes 56 seconds from the time booting begins until GDM is up. The culprit seems to be that X is starting quite slowly. I'm wondering if there are some tweaks I can make to configuration files to elminate this lag, or at very least shorten it drastically. Any suggestions are appreciated. I couldn't find anything on forums yet that has solved my problem.

Hi there,
I'm just asking, because it's the first thing that came into my mind: Did you set the hostname for your machine in /etc/hosts as descriped in the wiki?
