Hi,
I just got a new usb keyboard to replace my aging ps/2 monster. I'm using LUKS disk encryption with a passphrase. I'm able to key in my passphrase using the old ps/2 keyboard however, the new usb keyboard will not accept any input. The usb keyboard works fine in grub and after booting into arch. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

You should have usbinput hook before encrypt in your /etc/mkinitcpio.conf for this.
Look here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mki … _the_HOOKS
Offline
Edited /etc/mkinitcpio.conf to include usbinput in the HOOKS section
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata usb usbinput keymap encrypt filesystems"
Ran
mkinitcpio -g /boot/kernel26.img
Seems to be working great. Now I can try the cleaning a keyboard in the dishwasher myth.
