What ever happened to evince annotation support?

So, I remember back when GNOME 2.24 was getting ready for release, people around the net were saying that evince was finally getting annotation support. Well, it didn't and now I can't even find a reference to this on the GNOME site.

What happened to all of that supposed SoC work that was put into this? Are there any plans of adding this support to evice in the future? Geez, I was excited when I heard about it back then and now I'm still in need of this feature.

Maybe they dropped it because they thought it would confuse users?  big_smile
Anyway, it hasn't been dropped from the 2.26 roadmap (yet), so maybe you might be in luck.

I must have missed that roadmap in my search. I'm just happy to see that support is still planned. I suppose that my needs can wait until March-ish for the next GNOME release so that I don't have to download the crappy bloatware that is acroread.

You could run PDF-XChange Viewer via Wine to annotate - see http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1436
It works pretty well for me.
