Running Eschalon on Arch64 (ELFCLASS error)

Hello!

I try to get Eschalon: Book I to run on Arch Linux 64 but get the following error message:

./eschalon_book_1: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

I know that this has something to do with the game looking for the right 32bit libraries, which it can't find. But I don't know which libraries I need to install.

I have /opt/lib32 in /etc/ld.so.conf by the way.

Any idea appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Running Eschalon on Arch64 (ELFCLASS error)

what 32-bit libraries have you installed? libX11.so.6 is owned by the libx11 package so you will need at least the lib32-libx11 package installed.

If you've already installed the 32 bit packages did you run 'ldconfig' (as root) after adding /opt/lib32 to ld.so.conf?

Thanks alot ghostHack! I managed to install all needed 32bit libraries now.

But now I get another error message that I don't understand and can not find any hint for in the internet. sad

Unable to calculate tex sizeappstub.linux signal handler 11

Sorry, that error message means nothing to me either.

Re: Running Eschalon on Arch64 (ELFCLASS error)

I've got this same error.

I've also got the proper set of 32-bit libraries, and get the "Unable to calculate tex sizeappstub.linux signal handler 11" error with several 32-bit games.

Did you get anywhere with this?

Edit: Thanks to the wonders of IRC, I found out what was wrong: lib32-nvidia-utils is necessary for Nvidia users, it replaces lib32-libgl.
