Ratpoison resizing issue

I noticed that ratpoison freezes on me sometimes when I try to resize a window . I always end up restarting X .

I noticed this warning in stdout

WARNING : Window manager (unknown) does not support EWMH hints

Is there a way to prevent those freezes from happening ?

Re: Ratpoison resizing issue

What app are you resizing? Does it work if you do it with just two terms?

I'm not sure but I think It's random . It happens like every 3 or 4 days . I mostly run the same set of apps (xclock , trayer , opera , pcmanfm , brasero , firefox , deluge . sylpheed , pidgin , stardict) .
The last time It happened with downthemall (a firefox plugin) .

The apps keep working (even the one that causes ratpoison to freeze) so I can still use opera and scroll down pages . Ratpoison is the only thing that freezes .

If the issue is easily reproducible , I would have tried getting a stack trace but running gdb for 3 days sounds crazy for me .

This is a screenshot showing the layout I mostly use when I resize windows :
