gksu does not seem to work with rox. The kde thing (don't remember what it's called--kdsu?) starts rox fine. I think it would be easier just to try another solution if one exists than to try to figure out why gksu does nothing (with rox).
In case I haven't mentioned it, I'm trying to start rox as root.

There's KTSUSS if you want, it's GTK-based too. Stands for 'keep the su simple, stupid'...
