[Solved] Suspend to Ram problem with ASUS W3N

Hi all,

when I do pm-suspend my Notebook suspends correctly. However at waking it up the screen stays black but I get som degree of control back. Also when I switch between a Konsole (vc/1) and the Dektop evironment I get a short Display flickering. I also tried the --quirk-dpms-suspend and --quirks-vbe-post but didn't help anything.

here's my pm-suspend.log:

Initial commandline parameters:
Tue Jan 13 20:23:44 EST 2009: Running hooks for suspend.

so it seems there's a problem with that '/usr/lib/pm-utils/functions' file but I have no idea what I might have to change in there.

any help greatly appreciated.

cheers, potzi

Re: [Solved] Suspend to Ram problem with ASUS W3N

When my system attempts to wake up I don't even get that far. I don't get any logging when my system attempts to resume from a suspend. I am running 2.6.28 and pm-utils 1.2.3-3. I just starting having this issue with the 2.6.28 update.

Re: [Solved] Suspend to Ram problem with ASUS W3N

the KDE 4.2 update solved the problem... somehow. I still can't resume when I use pm-suspend form a terminal but the Suspend to RAM function in KDE 4.2 works perfect. Not sure if powerdevil uses the pm-utils or has its own hooks to controll the suspend. Anyway, I'm happy now

You've better check that out, cause if another update will break something it would be easier to investigate and solve the problem smile
