What does arch do with the kernel?

I don't mean this as a criticism, just a question of curiosity. It struck me that the new kernel has been out for a few weeks and has been sitting in [testing] for about as long. So what it is that is keeping it there?

Is it stability issues? I would have assumed any stable releases would be more than sufficiently stable for arch. Or do the arch team tweak it in ways that requires additional testing for stability? I was under the impression that the arch kernel is generally as close to vanilla as possible.

What kind of work do they arch devs do with the kernel before it hits the stable repositories?
