After changing my system, NIC doesn't start automatically

Hello!

A few days ago, transfered my arch installation to a new system, of course with a new network card. I'm using a custom kernel, because of that I compiled a new one before copying the system.

But after starting my arch installation on the new system the new network card don't start automatically during the boot process. After login I have to make a "ifconfig eth0 up" and then "netcfg2 homenet". After that the network card run as normal. I compiled the e1000e driver for my intel network card directly in the kernel. Has anybody an idea, how to get it working automatically?

I am having exactly the same problem with an e1000e

my driver is loaded as a module, but even specifying that to load at boot doesn't seem to force it.

At present, like you I have to bring up the interface first then run netcfg2.

On the flip side, netcfg2 can attach to a wireless profile with no difficulty!

Why not make a script calling the same steps and set it to load at startup?  Of course, this isnt a permanent fix, but it should get things working a bit easier until an exact answer/fix comes along....

Unfortunately, I dont have any advice on the root problem as I dont know a thing about custom compiling and such yet
