Alt+rightclick to resize windows in Gnome?

Hi,

is there an way to use Alt+rightclick to resize a window in Gnome? There's nothing more annoying than having to point onto the tiny border of some window to resize it. Actually I already hate to click on the title bar, but since Alt+Leftclick works for moving that isn't necessary.

there is a keybord shortcut entry in the system menu
default for resizing window is Alt+F8, but you can configure it

Yea but you cannot assign mouse buttons there.

I know this is digging up an old thread, but for the record:

In gconf-editor, setting /apps/metacity/general/resize_with_right_button to true achieves the desired effect.

That's exactly right, one note though. The key may not exist and as such must be created as a boolean key.

Unfortunately this setting is required if one wants to use the TrackPoint in ThinkPads for scrolling and middle clicking.

Anyway, works like a charm. Thanks!
