Hello. When playing a mms:// stream from the swedish radio (sr.se) with mplayer it doesn't seem to buffer alright. I'm using it from commandline. I get a lot of short breaks in the broadcast. Is it possible to have a better buffer before it starts playing. It's the same with vlc or cvlc. When playing in firefox it is ok, but I really like mplayer so I want to use it for the most of my multimedia-playback.

can't you set the cache size somewhere in the options, or I think in the config file in ~/.mplayer for the plugin?

mplayer -cache X mms://blahblahblah
The default is 512 (i think), so try a bigger one.

No. It didn't work. It goes down to 0% and quits. I did try with -cache 512 and gets:
read error:: resource temporary unavailable4.-8) 1,1% 32%
Media data read failed

I did recompile mplayer with mplayer-nogui from AUR and now it is OK.
