[SOLVED]EEEPC 701 mounting readonly after boot.

I've had arch on my eeepc 701 for some time and all has been well.  The past two boots the root filesystem is mounting as readonly.  Is my SSD toast?  I'm using ext2 and the noatime option in Grub and fstab.    clueless.

I kinda doubt the drive is dead already. I've seen pretty positive estimates of their write life, especially with this kind of low-usage setup. Maybe something inadvertantly got flipped in the bios or fstab? I haven't played with a 701 so I wouldn't know for sure, but I really don't think your SSD is already dead, unless you got your eee 13 years before the rest of us.

Re: [SOLVED]EEEPC 701 mounting readonly after boot.

Well, I looked at the Grub menu.lst and the filesystem mount point was read only.  So, I changed ro to rw and it boots fine.  For good measure I added rw to the fstab mount point for the root.  Now it boots fine, filesystem is read and write and all my daemons are happy, udev too.
