Automount NTFS-3g: LOCALE

there's just too many issues with this one
both on forum and wiki

so i'm currently using thunar's volume management to automount devices when inserted
it works fine except the locale option for ntfs-3g

first... what is that volume management? i mean what is behind it?
i am not sure if it's HAL since adding a fdi rule gives different behaviour (the shortcut doesn't appear on desktop anymore and the file permissions/owner is different)
and second... how do i configure it to use a certain locale?

Re: Automount NTFS-3g: LOCALE

er
until a certain update i was able to sort my problem with removing the symling /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g -> /bin/ntfs-3g and adding a script that points to the /bin/ntfs-3g with locale argument
sadly it gives me an "unknown error" now

any chance some people who mantain ntfs-3g give their opinion?
