it works fine...

you only need to load

modprobe usbserial
modprobe ppp-generic

thanks to fmma for this modprobe

after that wvdial will work and gnokii

Thanks for the info.  I didn't find the process quite so easy.  Take a look at the following posting for more info: Huawei E169, Linux, NetworkManager
