nvidia libgl problem (solved)

Hello,

I am new to the forum, but I've been using Arch for over a year.  Today when I tried to do pacman -Syu I got this error:

:: nvidia-utils conflicts with libgl. Remove libgl? [Y/n]

I was able to upgrade by doing pacman -Su --ignore nvidia-utils.  My question is: will I have to do this from now on?  I've never had a problem with nvidia drivers in the past.

Thanks,
Jim

answer yes.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: nvidia libgl problem (solved)

Thanks for the answer.  I guess I need to ask another question or two.

Why has this never been a problem for me until now?  Did something change suddenly that will not allow my nvidia drivers to get along with linux?  Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I need to go back to  (shudder) windows?

Thanks again,
Jim

Re: nvidia libgl problem (solved)

nvidia-utils provides libgl. there isn't any problem with nvidia on linux. just answer Y when pacman ask you to remove libgl.
