Hello, I am going to work on a new Arch installation. I have the HP Photosmart printer/scanner and it works with Ubuntu. Will it work as well with Arch? I downloaded the printer driver installer from HP's web site and it works well with Ubuntu. There are other distros listed that it works with such as Fedora, Suse and such but Arch is not listed.
Thanks.

I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work with Arch. I'm guessing that the reason Arch isn't listed is that it's not one of the Big Name distributions, and so either (a) nobody's officially tested it or (b) nobody's bothered to list it yet.
Either way, I'd definitely give it a try.
And for future reference...it's not the distribution that's important when it comes to things like printer support; even if the distro. doesn't have the driver packaged for you, you can simply install the driver. What distribution you use *will* affect the versions of software the driver may depend on, but other than that...if the driver is out there, you can install it.
