Can't Login

On boot I receive this error message:

/etc/rc.sysinit: line 129: /sbin/ifconfig: No such file or directory

It gets to the login screen where I can type in my username, but it won't ask for my password. It will just wait for 10-15 seconds, then ask me for my login again. I'm doing this straight from the shell, no X session, nothing.

Re: Can't Login

Append single or su to the kernel parameters line at the grub boot menu. This will boot into single user mode, might help you out.

Is that a new install? if so did you pick and choose from base group?

Nope it was working fine for the past few months. I just turned it off for a few days, then once it turned back on, nothing.
