No sound

Hi.

Since last week I have no sound output. Don't know whats the problem. I tried reconfig alsa and followed the wiki exactly but no success...

Looks like the card was detected, right?

Im going to suggest some stupids things :-P, but anyway...Have you tried alsamixer? What about changing the audio jacks? (I've experienced that problem once, changing the jacks solve the problem).

If the card is detected it should work.

Sorry, nothing else comes to my mind right now.

EDIT: If you try to play something there's any error message? Any chances some other software it's blocking your sound output?

No audio jacks used, I just play sound with the build in speakers - its a notebook. But I also tried headphones without any success...
Yes card is detected like before. I can't see any error. Also playing outputs no error...

I might have the same problem. Could it have occurred after you upgraded to kernel 2.6.28? I created a new thread where I added much information on my system, since posting it here would seem like too much of a thread hijack.

don't know if it's the same problem, or related, but i did a fresh i686 install on my new msi wind netbook and i can't play any multimedia file, i have the Master control in alsamixer but everytime i try to play something the media players freeze
