I noticed an issue with mplayer on the latest update, and I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
I use the testing repos also by the way.
There's no longer any output on the screen anymore. By that I mean there is still video, but hitting O, the arrow keys, pausing the film, etc. no longer show anything on the screen. They still work, but it's invisible to me
Any ideas?
I've tried using all the different video output drivers and still nothing.

I think OSD is disabled by default, you would need to recompile with --enable-menu option AFAIK.

It worked fine up until the past couple days though, so unless they just now decided to disable it..
I'll try though real quick.

Maybe you should report a bug on the bug tracker.

Yeah, I just added it. =/ It's currently compiling with the --enable-menu option so we'll see how that goes.
Edit:: compile failed. I have absolutely no idea why it's suddenly no longer working. I didn't see anything about it in the developer mailing stuff, or anything. Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually.

Please use descriptive thread titles when posting. It makes it easier for other people to solve their problems when searching.
As far as recompiling goes, you may want to check out one of the subversion builds in AUR. Mplayer from subversion is stable. There's almost nothing major going into their subversion tree anymore. It's mostly bug fixes and outstanding features now.

Are you using x86_64? If so, i think i know the problem.
Please, take a look here (and related tasks):

I fixed it by compiling mplayer with --enable-freetype .
