hi@all,
I just installed xcompmgr because the fading effects are really nice
after a few hours X causes around 70% cpu usage and i have to restart xcompmgr.
It seems to be a X problem is there an option I forgot to set?

The only thing that comes to mind is that your card might be having either powermizer issues, or overheating maybe?

I've had similar problems - xcompmgr sucking up CPU and stuttering. Sadly, I've had to ditch it and use Compiz Fusion standalone for that (or Xfce's compositor is more lightweight) Xcompmgr was made as a proof-of-concept, and recieves very little development.
