Accessing Memory of Samsung Upstage

Hello!

The Samsung Upstage has both internal memory and a Sandisk micro SD card on which you can store multimedia.  I have attempted to access these with no luck and I am hoping someone could help me.  Here are two snippited of the dmesg output when I plug it in:

usb 2-8: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 8
usb 2-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
cdc_acm 2-8:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
usb 2-8: USB disconnect, address 8
usb 2-8: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 9
usb 2-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 9
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
...
sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Device not ready: Sense Key : 0x2 [current]
sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Device not ready: ASC=0x3a ASCQ=0x0
end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 96
sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Device not ready: Sense Key : 0x2 [current]
sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Device not ready: ASC=0x3a ASCQ=0x0
end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 97
...

Let me know if I can provide any more useful information.  I have all of the manuals, etc.

Re: Accessing Memory of Samsung Upstage

hi
I've got a J700 which also comes with a micro sd card. I'm not sure, but in the phone settings, go to pc connections and make sure it is set to mass storage, not samsung pc studio or whatever.
I hope this helps.

Teacha, thanks for the idea.  It is however set to mass storage, so that's not the problem.

Re: Accessing Memory of Samsung Upstage

After plugging it in, unload the cdc-acm module. You should be able to access the storage device then.
