Is your system up to date? This line tells me that something is very wrong:
:: firefox: requires xulrunner=1.9.0.4
Arch is on xulrunner 1.9.0.5 and Firefox is built against it.

i update my packages list today

Yeah... just do a 'pacman -Syu', and then if you don't like what pacman proposes to update, update individually. Otherwise, go ahead.

Hm, same problem here:
Fehler: Konnte den Vorgang nicht vorbereiten
Fehler: Konnte den Vorgang (In Konflikt stehende Dateien) nicht durchführen
phonon: /usr/share/kde4/services/phononbackends/xine.desktop existiert im Dateisystem
Fehler sind aufgetreten, keine Pakete wurden aktualisiert.
My system is up to date.
Any ideas?

rm /usr/share/kde4/services/phononbackends/xine.desktop
did it for me.

To the TS: please take the time to put in a descriptive, helpful title, instead of a generic one that could really mean anything. HELP or any variation in your topic title is utterly redundant - after all, help is what this forum is meant for.
Enjoy your stay.

I think I have a similar problem:
According to the package-search on the homepage phonon should be on version 4.3.0, but:
> bash-3.2# pacman -Ss phonon
> extra/phonon 4.2.1-1
(yes I did update my repos with pacman -Syy)
So, whenever I try to upgrade I get an "can't resolve dependencies" Error.
How can I resolve this?

The mirror that you're using is out of sync. Wait until it syncs or find other mirrors.

These are _not_ the same problem as discussed by the OP.
@KarlHarald - normally you'd figure out who owns the file, and if it's un-owned, remove it - otherwise file a bug
@m-eick - sounds like your mirror hasn't fully updated. Try a different one.

Yes, you are right; when browsing the packages on the mirror (ftp5.gwdg.de) directly I couldn't find any phonon package at all. I changed the mirror an upgraded without problems!
Keep up the good work, Arch rocks!

Hello,
I'm trying to install kdemod-complete and get an error that says:
cannot resolve "phonon>=4.3.0", a dependency of "kdemod-kdelibs"
I have tried two different mirrors with the same result. Any idea what would be wrong here? I think I can install kde just fine, but not kdemod. Thanks.

That's because I removed phonon from the repo. It's included in Qt now. Does kdemod requiere their own Qt or can you use the one from extra?
Offline
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, kdemod uses qtmod, as opposed to qt. From further research I think the issue may be due to KDE being 4.3 now and KDEMOD being 4.2.
I found a version of phonon in my package cache and installed it, but then I get a 'phonon confilcts with qt', or qtmod, I'll have to check which it was.
I'm under the impression that qtmod does not include phonon and thus expects it to be able to be installed seperately. Since it comes with qt, but qtmod conflicts with qt, no phonon can be installed. But I may be way off on what the issue is.
At the moment I'm installed the normal KDE from the Arch repos and I'll see how I like it. Hopefully by the time I decide to try KDEMOD the problem will be resolved. Though if I like KDE from Arch well enough I might not bother with KDEMOD at all.
Generally speaking will using KDE from Arch end up causing less problems, during updates and such, than KDEMOD? I would assume so, but perhaps not?
Thanks again.

Best find an up to date mirror near your location using http://users.archlinux.de/~gerbra/mirrorcheck.html
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

Thanks, but it's still the same...
I wanted to install kdemod, but i still get the error: cannot resolve "phonon>=4.3.0", a dependency of "kdemod-kdelibs"
I've tried to install phonon manully but I can't find the packged phonon, even if i install qtmod it still give the error
Any idea how to fix it?

You have to wait for KDEmod to catch up to the KDE-4.3 release
