adding new mkinitcpio.conf settings to custom kernel

hi, im using custom kernel for my eee-pc 900. I installed it and almost everything runs without any problem but as a user from Turkey i need to enable keymap option to mkinitcpio.conf in order to make it load turkish supported fonts during the startup. when i use the command "mkinitcpio -p kernel26" it doesn't effect my custom kernel. it writes to original kernel. What should i do in order to take my chances effect?

Read man mkinitcpio, or mkinitcpio -h. You're looking for the -k option.
