audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

Yaourt reports that audacity is missing three files.

Removed audacity and re-installed.  Still missing three files.  Cleared audacity from cache and removed with pacman.

Still have three missing files.  These are not identified with ID's just descriptions.

EDIT:  My oops! referred to wrong program(avidemux).  The problem is with audacity.........

Re: audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

I installed it over and over from extra with the same result..nada.

EDIT:

ash-3.2# audacity
audacity: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
bash-3.2#

This obtains from terminal.  No icon is kde menu multimedia.

Sam C;

Afraid I don't know "post the logs".  Never done such in five years of archlinux.

Please hold my trembling hand!

As in, copy and paste the output of the command into code tags.

Re: audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

The previous posting was in error...there is an audacity in multimedia kde menu.  It returns nada.

The following is the yaourt download of audacity which I surmise you desire Sam C:

bash-3.2# yaourt -S audacity

Have I provided the log you desire?

Re: audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

Yes, you have. Have you done "pacman -Syyu"? Anyway, as it says, you already have audacity. I'm pretty sure that the warnings there come after it has been installed.

Re: audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

Have you tried reinstalling it after that? Also, what happens when you type in "audacity"?

Re: audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

That gives the reported ELF message posted earlier in this thread.

I have eliminated audacity from the cache and also ran

pacman -Rd audacity

and then re-installed with

pacman -S audacity

...................

This is where I am now with the same results..nada in audacity.

I'm sorry, but you did not post anything to do with ELF errors in this thread. What are they?

Re: audacity not running in 64 bit(Solved with wxgtk)

Audacity entered in terminal:

bash-3.2# audacity
audacity: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

This has been consistent even though I download x86-64 packages.

So, you've tried "pacman -Sy wxgtk"?

I ran

pacman -Sy wxgtk

and that solved the problem.

Many thanks for your support.
