Just a recent convert to Arch. Coming from a Ubuntu and Mac background. I still use Macs at home so it is important for me to get netatalk up and running. I was able to get it to compile correctly with AUR but I am unable to get it to work. I believe that to run AppleTalk you need the following:
afpd
papd
atalkd
Now all parts are executing fine except atalkd which complains of this:
[aaron@cruise rc.d]$ sudo ./atalkd start
Password:
:: Starting atalkd Daemon [BUSY]
socket: Address family not supported by protocol
socket: Address family not supported by protocol
atalkd: can't get interfaces, exiting.
Populating atalkd.conf with eth0 in /etc/netatalk doesn't seem to help. After doing some googling, it appears that you need the appletalk module (or compiled in the kernel); Neither of which are available it seems. Can anyone please help me? I have everything else working great on Arch and it would be a shame to ditch it just because of netatalk not working.
Thanks,
Daze
