Problem with Marvell's net card[solved]

I have a problem with my Marvell Yukon 88E8072 net card.
With the sky2 module loaded and pppoe-setup+pppoe-start(returns connection ok) done....I cannot acces to the internet.

ping www.google.it

Recognise the site but don't work.
The same with pacman.

Any ideas to solve this??

Thanks and be arch with you

Post the output of ifconfig and route while you're connected. Also /etc/resolv.conf.

Re: Problem with Marvell's net card[solved]

You omitted ppp0 from your ifconfig output. Bear in mind that ppp0 is the interface connected to the outside world, not eth0, so your default route should be via ppp0, not eth0. I don't use pppoe myself, but I presume there is some associated method for automatically setting the default route - if not, you will have to script it.

ppp0 appears in http://f.imagehost.org/view/0924/DSCF2714 ... so is correct?
If not...what is the alternative for pppoe-setup??

Thanks 4 your info and time btw smile

I'm not a network guru but should you ppp0 be the default route, as that is your port to the i*net?

Duologic is correct. So was I, when I said more or less the same thing. smile

Yes, ppp0 appears in your routing table, but not as the interface for your default route. That's your main problem right now. Find out how pppoe-setup should handle the default route - like I said, I don't use it.

Why is this topic marked solved when there isn't a solution here?
