It's been broken for me too for a couple of days. I've been using gnome-cups-manager in the meantime

Yeah, it's broken, and has been since at least 1.1.1-1.

Install system-config-printer-gnome or kdeutils/kdeadmin, which contains system-config-printer-kde.

There is no system-config-printer-gnome.. and I am not using [testing]

There is system-config-printer-gnome in AUR but I can't find it.. maybe because I am running 64bit and the PKGBUILD is for 32bit. I didn't check.
Anyway here's a PKGBUILD I found for system-config-printer-gnome... someone may find it useful.

I could be wrong, but isn't that the exact same thing as system-config-printer in the repos?

No, because the one on the repos doesn't have any executable file associated with it. Just library files, it seems. See the file listing above...
I suppose system-config-printer is the "core" package, while *-gnome and *-kde provide the frontend. And there seems to be no frontend in the repos.
The PKGBUILD for system-config-printer-gnome I posted starts and seems to work, but I don't have any printers here to test it.

Oh, ok. Got you.
But there never used to be any need for a 'frontend', it was a complete package just worked fine last week.
Anyone have any idea why upgrades stopped providing an executable of sorts?

Hmmm...
It would be nice to have it free of both gnome and kde.
Wasn't that how it used to work?
There was even a text-only ui i think if you had no x.
