I personally use XFCE, but I have recently installed KDE, just for curiosity. But when I start KDE, all applications in ~/.config/autostart also run - it is standard feature. I know, that it is possible to make some apps run only when starting KDE (they are stored in ~/.kde4/autostart as far as I know), but I don't know if it is possible in other way - to make some apps run only in XFCE (for exaple I don't need conky in KDE).
I would like to avoid solutions like adding a script to KDE autostart, that would kill conky .
Some applications are WYSIWYG, and some are WYSIWTF.
