Downgrading ffmpeg

I need to downgrade ffmpeg because vdr-softdevice doesn't work with the latest update of ffmpeg(20081220). But i can't find previous packages and i don't know the revision that compiled ok of the previous packages so i can make a package myself. Can anyone help me to the right direction?

Perhaps you have the old package in your pacman cache, /var/cache/pacman/pkg by default.

Thanks, but i've read the wiki page: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Downgrade_packages and i've tried all methods described there. But i can't find a valid ffmpeg package.

Downgrading FFmpeg is going to break everything else that depends on it. What problems are you having with vdr-softdevice?

It doesn't work. I have latest cvs version, it compiles fine but as soon as it starts playing video it crashes. I don't see any error messages, but i believe it's a crash. There is also a bug report on this matter from another guy in softdevice bug tracker http://developer.berlios.de/bugs/?func= … up_id=2051
that was posted 2 January 2009. There hasn't been a response from the developers though.

that was posted 2 January 2009. There hasn't been a response from the developers though.

The CVS build was what I was going to recommend. I don't use the software but got a successful build. But, you said that it doesn't work. You could try ffmpeg-svn, but that may also break things.

Yes,i can try and i will. But i believe it's softdevice that needs to be updated and not ffmpeg.

capthookb will need at least the older x264 package also.

Maybe it's not related but there is a bug with x264. Maybe it's not ffmpeg the problem...

Thanks for the packages. It now works, even with latest x264. So it must be the updated ffmpeg.
