Hi,
I just installed arch on my laptop and decided to install kde.
Everything got installed, except for a couple of packages which don't seem to be in the mirrors:
* soprano-2.1.67-1-i686
* mysql-5.0.75-3-i686
*system-config-printer-1.1.1-2-i686
I can't find them in aur either.
even tried the kdemod repos, but this didn't work...
even if i try
pacman -S mysql
i get the error:
failed retrieving file 'mysql-5.0.75-3-i686.pkg.tar.gz' from ftp.nluug.nl: File unavailable (e.g., file not foundt, no acces'
this for every mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
Do i just have to be patient until these packages appaer in the repo"s?
they are installed as dependencies for kde. Which means that kde won"t install because of the errors
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
help 4 the newbie?
thx

You need to do `pacman -Sy` before to sync the db repos.

You might want to wait a while. Either it means the mirrors are getting synced, which means the database is up already but not all packages are. Or, it's a genuine error and the package never got updated in the repo, but that doesn't happen often. I usually google the package and pull it in from there, then reissue an -Syu. But, that's only if you're impatient like me .

Yes,
was being impatient
did a pacman -Syy
and the install worked
btw i did this before, and it didn't help, so i guess that the mirror got synced in the mean time...
thx
i wasn't shure if this was a mirror issue or a user issue here
guess i didn't mess it up
