I've had trouble with default applications that xdg-open and pcmanfm use. At this point I think the easiest solution would be to just edit the database files that house this information.
1) Where does xdg-open get its default application from?
2) Where does pcmanfm store it's preferred application list from?
|-> Solved. It's all in ~/.local/share/applications -- can't believe I missed it.
Does xdg-open pull info from ~/.local/share as well?
