Hi,
I'm trying to use pm-hibernate on Toshiba Satellite L40-14G notebook.
Introduction:
(1) KDEmod 4.2; there's a button "Suspend to Disk" which behaves exactly like pm-hibernate. I suppose it's one and the same thing; is it so?
(2) My user belongs to power group
(3) My /boot/grub/menu.lst:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/disk/by-label/Root vga=773 resume=/dev/disk/by-label/Swap ro
Looks like everything's been done by the book (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pm-utils), but it doesn't work. After a while the screen turns black (it doesn't turn off; remains lighted from underneath) without any disk activity worth mentioning. That is, no state info gets written to my swap, obviously. From this point I was able to proceed by means of hard reset only.
Any suggestions?

/sys/power/disk:
[platform] test testproc shutdown reboot

All of the above is either trivial or irrelevant . Wiki's a bit out of date...
Installation:
# pacman -S pm-utils hibernate-script
Usage:
# hibernate
or
# suspend
