Question about Nvidia card

I have Nvidia Quadro FX Go700 graphic card. It is a AGP card. I've checked with lsmod is agpgart module loaded and it is. However in Nvidia settings utility it says that card is connected on PCI slot. I think that this is causing my low performance issues. Is anyone familiar with a solution to this problem? I've read on some post to restart X server after it is first loaded, but this, as I thought, didn't help.
The best example is when I try to save a file from web with firefox my CPU usage goes through the roof, so it's obvious that GPU isn't doing his job as it should. This all started to happen with last X upgrade.
