Hi!
I recently installed Arch, and used the "standard" KDE4 packages which work fine. However I read that the "KDEmod4" packages are supposed to be better. Is there any easy way to upgrade to the mod version from the vanilla one?
Thanks

Is there a difficult one?

As far as I know, you don't upgrade, you completely remove KDE (and Qt) provided by Arch. See this guide.

That guide is a bit outdated.
New guide:
1: pacman -Rd kde
2: rm -r ~/.kde4
3: add repos to /etc/pacman.conf
4: You must also activate the [community] repository
for 64bit, use mirrors if possible: (iskrembilen is fast, altho it had a 3 HD breakdown and might not be up yet)
[kdemod-core]

[kdemod-extragear]

[kdemod-playground]
Server = http://chakra-project.org/repo/playground/x86_64
5: pacman -Syu
6: pacman -S kdemod or kdemod-complete or kdemod-minimal

To add to the above, make sure the kdemod repos are above the extra repo (to make sure KDEmod packages are always used over KDE packages). Also, be warned that playground can be unstable, and I would also add kdemod-legacy so you can use KDEmod packages if you still need some KDE3 stuff (K3b, for example).

No, kdemod uses arch qt starting from kde version 4.2.
